I didn't get into property the way most people do. I didn't save up a deposit, I didn't buy my first flat at 24, and I didn't come from money. I got into it from the inside. I spent years working in lettings, managing hundreds of properties on behalf of landlords who collected the income while I did every bit of the work.
I knew the model better than most of the people who owned the assets. I knew which properties performed, which agents were worth calling, how to negotiate a deal, how to keep tenants in and problems out. I had all the knowledge and none of the upside.
The landlords weren't smarter than me...
Not because it sounds good, but because I understand their lives. I'm a parent. I know what it means to want to build something real without it costing you the time you actually care about. That's what Ascension is built around.
At some point I stopped and looked at the landlords I was working for. These weren't geniuses. They weren't doing anything I couldn't do. The only difference between them and me was that they controlled the asset, and I didn't. So I asked myself a simple question: what if I didn't need to own it to control it?
That question changed everything.
Rent-to-rent isn't a hack or a shortcut. It's a legitimate model that's been used in commercial property for decades. You take a property on a long-term agreement, sublet it properly, and keep the difference. No mortgage. No six-figure deposit.
No waiting ten years to get started. Within twelve months of going all in on this, I had built more income from rent-to-rent than I had ever earned running someone else's portfolio.
I'm not a guru who stumbled onto something and started selling courses. I'm a parent, and I built this around a life that had real demands on it.
When people started asking how I did it, I didn't hand them a PDF. I sat down with them, went through their situation, and helped them build it properly. The ones who followed the system got results. Some of them faster than I did.
